Birding and Yammering in Galveston, Texas.

I moved from Florida to Galveston in 1999 and have resided here since. My name’s Paul.

Living in Galveston has led me steadily toward becoming a bird nut. (I’m told that ‘birder’ is the correct term for people who like to watch and photograph birds, but I’m trying to be honest.) This area of the Texas gulf coast is a hot spot for migrating birds in Spring and Fall and Galveston hosts a Springtime festival called FeatherFest which draws a lot of bird nut visitors. Well, I live here and somehow over the years I got the bug. So I’m blogging my photos and rookie birder experiences here.

My birding rig (through 2016) is Canon 70D with 400mm f/5.6 prime. Prior photos in 2014 were on Olympus OM-D EM-5 with the Olly 75-300mm zoom.

My rig as of June 2017 is Lumix FZ200.
