Carolina Wren

I heard this Carolina Wren this morning before I saw it. Singing its heart out right in the pecan tree out back. Such a sweet little bird! And I was kinda stoked that I had IDed it by its call.

Then, before work, I stopped by the shrimp docks and caught this Snowy Egret coming in for a landing.

  1. I have a pair of these little cuties that have been around my yard for 3 years now. They love the suet at the feeder. They’re the ones who nested in my kitchen window box a couple years ago. When they puff up their feathers to stay warm, they look like little brown feather balls with a beak. So endearing. These are super shots, Paul!
Major WOW on the egret. Another super shot!

  2. I remember you telling me about that, very cool! Forgot what kind of bird you had said it was. They are very cute and they sing like mad. This one was snooping around tree holes out back so maybe…?
